Unfolding God’s Plan of Salvation
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
Romans 3:23
Ladies, we were created good. God’s Word tells us in Genesis 1:27 that we were created in His image to have a relationship with Him. But, sin entered the world and because of that, sinning is now natural for us; we don’t have to work at it. We have a sin nature that draws us to a self-centered life. We have all witnessed children as they argue, wanting their way, exclaiming something isn’t fair, refusing to share, or screaming, “No!”
Our sin prevents us from coming into the presence of a sinless, Holy God.
But God had a plan.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 6:23
Because of our sinful nature, the wages for our sin is death and separation from a Holy God. But God loved us so much, He made a way for a relationship with Him. God sent His only Son, Jesus.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
“But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8
Jesus came to earth, teaching, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 Then, though He had no sin, He gave His life on the cross as a substitute for our sin. Jesus paid the price for you and for me!
God did His part – now we must do ours.
“…if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9
“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13
We must first admit the fact that we are sinners. We have all fallen short (Exodus 20:1-17 lists the 10 Commandments…we have all broken more than one of these!)
Next, we must believe that Christ died for our sins. We will never comprehend the depth of His love, and this gift of grace, but we believe by faith.
Last, we must confess with our mouths, asking God to be Lord of our lives.
Once you admit, believe and confess, your new life in Christ begins! You are no longer separated from God because Jesus provided the way on the cross!
You cannot do this alone. You need a body of believers (the local church) to support and teach you as you grow in Christ. We encourage you to find a church to help you grow in your faith and to serve in. You will want to be baptized as your first public act of obedience. Don’t keep this decision a secret. Share with your friends and family. You will want them to celebrate with you as you share in your church.
Please contact me if I can help you unfold God’s plan of salvation. I look forward to celebrating with you, praying faithfully as you become who God has called you to be through Christ!
Praying for your salvation,
Heather
